Secret of being Successful
How to be a successful Musician?
YES! Every musician must have asked himself this question. It definitely relates to a formula many musicians are trying to encode! Before going ahead, let me give you a short introduction of myself. My name is Harey, 19 years, a keyboardist, who’ve been playing keyboard since the age of 8. Beside I also am trained in carnatic sangeetham and veenai, and I know how to become a good musician, because I’ve been playing for a long time, and I’ve seen people pick up a instrument, and play, then give up! This is not the right attitude to have, as Motivation is the key!
Do you want to be successful as an musician? - Or; do you have a passion for music, but you don’t know how you can pull it off? Both of these questions have the same answers. In this article, I am going to revile a few tips, which might be a guideline for your successful music career.
A Great Band Name – In some cases a great band name can get much more attention among the media, than if the musician went with their original names or their label names.Carefully and intelligently choose your band’s name and your band’s CD titles. Heard of LadyGaga, 50 Cent or of the latest project titled “$9.50″? – Wonder why they chose those names…
Talking Skills – As a musician you’ll know how to grab the attention of the audience with a song, but it is very useful to know aswell, some other ways to capative your audience while your on stage! If you ever see an artist, getting on the stage and saying “Ehm.. Hey,.. I am Rukkumani” then you know what I mean.
Market Your Songs - Imagine a funnel; you know its wide and open at the top, and further down the space decreases, and at the bottom, you’ll have only a certain space available to flow through. Now practically speaking, the top is where you want to get inside as MANY people as possible, and at the bottom you have your highly priced quality products or services. So the more you go down the funnel, the more the price increases, and the idea behind this is to get the consumer flowing down from top to bottom. The best way to get them INTO the tunnel, is to attract them!
FREEEEE!! - did I just now grab your attention? YES! – Offering something for free is the best way to attract tons of people! I was walking down the road recently, and I was pushed a prospect into my hands advertising a CD for free, by just signing up for the product on their website. When people sign up for these, they obviously leave back their names and email addresses, which enables you the option to notify or update them of future releases and latest updates; and apart from that, you drive simultaneously traffic onto your website!
Copywriting Rules
1. Know your USP! No, its not a parcel service! USP stands for Unique Selling Proprtion, which is the the key differentiating factor for buying your product, compared to that of a “competitor”. Your can’t know your USP unless you research it as close as your competition does.
2. Layout, Graphic and Font do not drive income, however, they play a huge role in getting the attention of the end users. Get inspirations of professional ads, and make sure to chose the text and layout wisely. Don’t revile too much in your marketing materials. Chose your headlines simple, direct, and in the conversational style of your prospects. For all your adverts consider an advertorial layout, which can get up to 80% more attention than any other layout. IsaiArangam can design your marketing materials!

. Sincerity Sells – Don’t offer fluff, mislead, or lie to your prospects. If a song had been an inspiration, make sure, you give credits to the song.
Link back – It’s very important to give credits to web pages. So make sure to include a a list on your page with your favorite promotional websites (hopefully that’s IsaiArangam).
Spend Wisely – A old business saying: “Spend Money to Make Money” – My version: Spend money PROMOTING to make money. Spending money into this sector is certainly an investment into your future success – without any doubt!
SELL your music online – When you first announced your first CD sale on your web page or on facebook , did the orders just start pouring in? PROBABLY NOT! Most likely you must have run around between all promoters to make sure, they promote your Album, and at the end it turns out that only a few CD’s were sold?! Certainly it’s a long process, but everything has a starting point! Start now – Sell your Cd’s online on IsaiArangam Store (Register)
Perhaps the best way to finish up this article is to dismiss one of the greatest myths about making people believe, that getting notices and attaining fame is all about being lucky and being in the right place at the right time. I strongly disagree with this, as this cannot be further from the truth. An American radio presenter once famously said “Luck is opportunity met by preparation, and to be prepared is a personal choice.“. So keep in mind, developing the right mindset is the most important step in order to be prepared, however achieving that mindset is neither of accidents, but its entirely up to yourself!
